2027 Special Examination Arrangements application forms available from 5 October

Principals/Directors, VCE Coordinators and VASS Administrators

The following forms, including the documentation checklist, will be available from Monday 5 October on the Special Provision Online (SPO) platform and VASS (from the SYSTEM ADMIN>Downloads menu) to assist schools with collecting and providing the necessary evidence for 2027 SEA applications:

• Special Provision – 2027 school based evidence Form (mandatory).
• Special Provision – 2027 student consent form (mandatory).
• Special Provision – 2027 SEA evidence checklist (optional).
• Special Provision – 2027 health professional statement (optional).
• Special Provision – 2027 school based assessment Cover Sheet (optional).
• Special Provision – 2027 Rollover previously approved SEA form.

Schools are encouraged to start collecting evidence to support SEA applications for the 2027 academic year.

While completion of the Student Consent form remains mandatory, from 2027 schools will no longer be required to upload the signed form to SPO. Instead, schools will need to indicate a student’s consent on SPO and retain the actual signed form in accordance with the school records retention policy for a minimum of 7 years. The VCAA may request a copy of a student’s consent form, including as part of an official school audit.

Schools will be able to submit new SEA applications and apply for previously approved SEA in the SPO platform from Wednesday 27 January 2027.

Special Examination Arrangements (SEA) training sessions for school staff

To support schools with the submission of 2027 Special Examination Arrangements (SEA) applications, VCAA will deliver in-person professional learning workshops on Friday 4 December and Monday 7 December 2026. An online training session will also be held in February 2027.

VCE Coordinators and school personnel responsible for administering special provision are strongly encouraged to attend one of these workshops.

The workshops will provide an overview of the key administrative changes to the 2027 SEA application process, including practical guidance to support schools in preparing and submitting applications.

• Monday 5 October 2026: 2027 SEA application forms available on VASS
• Friday 4 December 2026: - Training session 1 (in person)
• Monday 7 December 2026: - Training session 2 (in person)
