Formative assessment rubrics professional learning workshops

Principals/Directors and primary and secondary school teachers (F–10)

Main points

The VCAA has developed the Guide to formative assessment rubrics  (the Guide) with experts from the University of Melbourne’s Assessment Research Centre to assist teachers to use formative assessment rubrics in the classroom.

In early March, the VCAA will seek expressions of interest from experienced teachers to participate in a series of three professional learning workshops based on the principles in the Guide. The participating teachers will develop, trial and refine their own formative assessment rubrics, including gathering and assessing student work.

Action required

Principals/Directors should direct this information to F–10 teachers at their school.
