Register for F−10 Critical and Creative Thinking workshops
Principals/Directors and primary and secondary school teachers
The VCAA invites F−10 teachers to attend two professional learning workshops about Critical and Creative Thinking in March.
The workshops will be co-facilitated by visiting Professor Bill Lucas , an international authority in the curriculum, pedagogy and assessment of Critical and Creative Thinking.
Primary and secondary school teachers are welcome to attend either or both workshops. Participation is free.
Workshop 1 will be held on Tuesday 5 March.
Register by Monday 25 February.
Workshop 2 will be held on Thursday 7 March.
Register by Wednesday 27 February.
Principals/Directors should make staff aware of these free professional learning opportunities.

Workshop 1 – Critical and Creative Thinking: Why and how to teach and assess
Presented by Professor Bill Lucas, University of Winchester, and Sharon Foster, Victorian Curriculum
In this workshop, participants will share challenges and gain insights into implementing the curriculum in a school context, signature pedagogies and supporting assessment to progress student learning.
Workshop 2 – Critical and Creative Thinking: Do you know how to support students to transfer their critical and creative thinking into every classroom?
Presented by Professor Bill Lucas, University of Winchester, and Dr Michelle Anderson, Director, Interface2Consulting.
In this workshop, participants will explore how to transfer Critical and Creative Thinking to the classroom. There will be time to share challenges and gain insights into how to teach the curriculum, embed it in other curriculum areas and teach for the transfer of knowledge and skills.
Both workshops will be held between 9am and 3.45pm at the Melbourne Marriott Hotel (corner of Exhibition and Lonsdale streets).
