Notice to Schools 161/2019 – 18 December 2019
The Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) planning for 2020
Principals/Directors and F–2 teachers
Schools are advised that printed copies of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) are now back in stock and available for order.
The VEYLDF is for all professionals working with children aged from birth to eight years, including kindergarten teachers, school teachers (F–2) and professionals in outside school hours care.
The VEYLDF includes the mapping of its five VEYLDF Learning and Development Outcomes to the first three levels of the Victorian Curriculum F–10 to support the understanding of continuity of learning across the early years.
This can assist teachers in the early years of school to design experiences and learning opportunities that build on and extend children’s knowledge and capabilities, and to support them to build resilience as they transition to school.

In 2020 the VCAA and the Department of Education and Training will be undertaking an evaluation of implementation activities since the release of the revised VEYLDF in 2016. The evaluator, Synergistiq, will be connecting with the early years sector to find out how effective these activities have been.
