On Demand Testing Item Level Response Collection 2019

Principals/Directors and On Demand Testing coordinators

Regular analysis and calibration of the Item Level Response data is integral to the accuracy of the On Demand program. To ensure the integrity of item content and the accuracy of the difficulty value assigned to each test item, the VCAA regularly reviews all items in the On Demand program to analyse how each item is performing and to quantify usage of On Demand testing.

This process involves the collection of student responses to test items. The information collected does not include names of any person or student, or any other information that identifies a person or student. There is no action required by schools for this process.

Schools that do not wish to participate in this process should complete an Exemption form (pdf - 1.04mb). The form should be signed by the principal and returned to the VCAA by close of business Wednesday 21 August 2019.

Action required

Principals/Directors should:

  • take no action if they are happy for their school to participate in this collection
  • return the On Demand Item Level Response Data Collection Exemption Form by the due date if their school is not participating.

Friday 21 August 2019 – closing date for submission of exemption forms
