Notice to Schools 149/2020 – 12 October 2020
Travelling to and from schools/venues for essential assessments
Principals/Directors, VCE Coordinators and VCAL Coordinators
The Victorian Chief Health Officer has endorsed the 2020 onsite delivery of VCE external assessments with health and safety controls in place.
This means that regardless of whether a student resides in regional Victoria or metropolitan Melbourne the following can occur:
- Students are able to leave their premises to undertake essential VCE and VCAL assessments onsite. This includes VCE performance and Languages oral examinations, Extended Investigation oral presentations and VCE written examinations.
- Parents/carers can transport their student to and from the venue in a private vehicle to undertake their essential assessment.
- If it is not possible to use a private vehicle, public transport may be used by the student to travel to and from their assessment.
- Education staff can leave their premises to undertake support for the delivery of mandatory VCE and VCAL assessments onsite. Please note that where applicable, staff will be required to carry their Permitted Worker Permit.
Principals/Directors should ensure VCE and VCAL Coordinators are made aware of this advice.
