Notice to Schools 17/2020 – 12 February 2020
Initial enrolment data due Monday 24 February 2020
Principals/Directors, VASS administrators and VCE, VET and VCAL coordinators
Schools are reminded that the initial enrolment data for VCE, VET and VCAL is due Monday 24 February 2020.
The data should include:
- VCE Units 1–4
- VCAL Certificates and VCAL units
- VET Certificates and units of competency
- registration of International Baccalaureate (IB) students (Years 11 and 12).
Initial enrolment data is used for planning associated with the General Achievement Test (GAT) and VCE examinations, to determine the School-based Assessment Audit, and for Department of Education and Training reporting purposes.
As part of this process, schools must ensure that students have completed and signed the relevant Student Personal Details form. The forms can be generated from VASS, pre-populated with student details for continuing students or printed blank for new students.
Initial enrolment 2020 instructions (docx - 90.54kb) for details.
Principals/Directors should ensure VASS administrators and VCE, VET and VCAL coordinators are aware of the initial enrolment requirements and due date.
Monday 24 February 2020
Although the due date for initial enrolment data is recognised in VASS as ’Not a Final Date for Enrolments’, schools are strongly advised to finalise their initial enrolment data by this time.
The first priorities should be VCE Unit 3 and 4 enrolments, and enrolments in units of competency from scored VCE VET Unit 3–4 sequences, as this critical information is used specifically to develop the 2019 VCE examinations timetable. Where possible, schools should also enter VCE Units 1 and 2, and unscored VET/Further Education and VCAL enrolments, by the due date.
The ’Final Date for Enrolments’ recognised in VASS is Monday 27 April 2020 (also the last day for withdrawals), which applies to:
- VCE Unit 3−4 sequences
- units of competency from scored VCE VET Unit 3−4 sequences
- IB students for the GAT
- returning Interrupted Studies students.
