Reminder: VCE Unit 3 and 4 School-based Assessments
Principals/Directors, VCE Coordinators, VCE Teachers and Teachers of VCE English and English as an Additional Language (EAL)
Schools are reminded of the requirements set out on in the
VCE and VCAL Administrative Handbook, which state that: ‘Units 3 and 4 are designed to be taken as a sequence. Students must undertake Unit 3 before commencing Unit 4 of a study ’ (page 2).
In particular, schools are reminded that for VCE English and EAL, the School-assessed Coursework for Unit 4, Outcome 2 (oral presentation of a point of view) cannot be completed until students have undertaken all requirements of Unit 3.
Action required
Principals/Directors should ensure that all VCE teachers, particularly teachers of VCE English and English as an Additional Language, are reminded of this requirement as detailed in the VCE and VCAL Administrative Handbook and VCE study designs.
