Operational guidance for COVID-safe delivery of the 2021 General Achievement Test (GAT)

Principals/directors, VCE coordinators and exam centre coordinators

The safety of our students, staff and community is front of mind in decision making for the delivery of VCE external assessments, including the General Achievement Test (GAT).

The Operational guidance for COVID-safe delivery of the 2021 General Achievement Test (GAT) (pdf - 833.5kb) has been approved by the Department of Health. The health and safety controls are consistent with the current COVID-19 school guidance (as at 30 July 2021).

To assist schools with planning for the GAT, the guidance includes key information on:

  • QR codes and recording keeping requirements
  • examination centre set-up
  • face masks
  • additional supervision to support health and safety measures
  • managing student onsite attendance, isolation and medical vulnerability

Action required

Principals/directors, please ensure school personnel and supervisors responsible for managing the conduct and administration of the 2021 General Achievement Test (GAT) are aware of the health and safety and operational requirements and are provided with the Operational guidance for COVID-safe delivery of the 2021 General Achievement Test (GAT).
