Notice to Schools 128/2021 – 10 September 2021
2021 Collection of student email addresses
Principals/directors, VASS administrators and VCE, VCAL and VET coordinators
In October, the VCAA will undertake validation of student email addresses for all students enrolled in one or more VCE or scored VCE VET Unit 3–4 sequence in 2021 who registered to receive their results by email.
Student email addresses are collected and used for the 2021 results delivery and other post-results services, including applications to obtain Statement of Marks, Statement of Study Score and Inspection of Examination Response Materials. Students should be given the opportunity to submit an active email address that is accessible by the student during results release in December 2021 and the first half of 2022 for communications regarding the Premier's VCE Awards.
The VCAA recommends that schools collect student email addresses as soon as possible. Before the validation process starts, schools should make sure that student email addresses are current and correct for all students enrolled in one or more VCE or scored VCE VET Unit 3−4 sequence in 2021.
Student email addresses must be nominated by the student and not simply populated by the school using the school-issued email address. The VCAA preference is for a personal email address for each student, although we are aware that some schools prefer the school-issued email address to be used. If this is the case, schools will need to make sure that the school-issued email address remains active up to the end of June in the year following graduation.
There will be an email sent to Principals detailing information regarding student email registration for end-of-year VCE results delivery.
Principals/directors, please make sure that all students enrolled in one or more VCE or scored VCE VET Unit 3–4 sequence in 2021 have their email addresses entered in VASS by the start of Term 4 for validation purposes.
Thursday 7 October – email address validation takes place
