Notice to Schools 149/2021 – 20 October 2021
2021 VCE written examinations observation visits
Principals/directors, VCE coordinators and Examination Centre coordinators
VCAA-appointed senior project officers may attend your school to monitor the conduct and administration of any VCE written examination. The purpose of these observations is to make sure that schools comply with all VCAA requirements for the conduct and administration of VCE written examinations.
Senior project officers will observe procedures before, during and after a VCE written examination, and will complete a report on their visit.
COVIDSafe observation visits
If a senior project officer visits your school, they will initially report to reception and present photographic identification, a Working with Children Check or VIT card, proof of vaccination and a letter of introduction from the VCAA.
Senior project officers will wear a face mask at all times, maintain appropriate physical distancing, and practice good and regular hand hygiene. In addition, they will comply with any additional requirements associated with each individual school’s COVIDSafe plan.
Principals/directors, please make sure that relevant school personnel and chief supervisors are aware that a VCAA-appointed senior project officer may attend their school to observe the conduct and administration of a VCE written examination.
Wednesday 27 October to Wednesday 17 November – VCE written examinations held
Principals will be provided with correspondence from the VCAA outlining any concerns raised during the observation and may be asked to respond formally.
The senior project officer will not assist with the conduct and administration of the VCE written examination or provide additional supervision or VCAA advice.
Please email any concerns about these arrangements to the Project Manager, Examination Planning and Logistics or call (03) 9059 4133.
