Plain English Speaking Awards 2021 deadline extended
Principals/directors, Year 10 and VCE English teachers, and debating coordinators
The deadline for the Plain English Speaking Awards (PESA) has been extended to Friday 7 May.
PESA gives Victorian secondary students the opportunity to demonstrate excellence in public speaking. Teachers can register their students via the online entry form. A maximum of two students per school may enter. Applicants must have been aged between 15 and 18 years on 1 January 2021.
There are 21 regional finals from Monday 17 May to Friday 28 May 2021 (inclusive). All regional finals start at 9.30am.
Please note there will be no National Final for the Plain English Speaking Awards this year, due to the changing and unpredictable health restrictions in various states.
Action required
Principals/directors, please advise teachers and debating coordinators that the deadline has been extended to Friday 7 May 2021.
