Resources

Curriculum area resources support teachers to implement the curriculum. Resources are organised by 'Planning resources', 'Teaching resources' and 'Assessment resources'.

Overview of Design and Technologies

Design and Technologies three-strand structure focuses on actively engaging students in creating quality designed solutions for identified needs and opportunities across a range of technologies contexts: Food and fibre production, Food specialisations, Materials and technologies specialisations and Engineering principles and systems. Design and Technologies provide students with knowledge, understanding and skills through which they can safely and ethically create designed solutions. In doing so, the students consider economic, environmental and social sustainability.

Professional associations

Design and Technologies Teachers Association, Victoria
Design and Technologies Teachers Association, Victoria (DATTA Vic) represents design and technologies teachers (including systems engineering teachers) throughout Victoria. DATTA Vic provides resources, publications, advocacy and professional learning to support the Victorian Curriculum.

Home Economics Victoria
Home Economics Victoria supports teachers of home economics, health and design and technologies. Home Economics Victoria provides professional learning, curriculum resources, publications, advocacy and consultancy. Home Economics Victoria conducts an annual conference in November each year as well as specific professional learning to support the Victorian Curriculum.

Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation
The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation (SAKGF) supports kitchen garden schools in Australia. SAKGF provides educational resources and professional learning for primary school teachers with a focus on the following Technologies contexts: Food and fibre production and Food specialisations.

Victorian Association of Agricultural and Horticultural Educators
The Victorian Association of Agricultural and Horticultural Educators is the professional association that supports teachers of food and fibre production including agricultural and horticultural studies.
