Unit 4: How can two contradictory models explain both light and matter?
This unit focuses on light and matter. Practical activities should not be limited to assessment tasks; they may be used to introduce a physics concept, to build understanding of a physics concept or skill and to practise specific scientific skills, for example, calculation of refractive indices of various materials, determination of wave amplitude, wavelength, period, frequency and speed, the production and analysis of interference/diffraction patterns, and graphical analysis related to the photoelectric effect.
Area of Study 1:How can waves
explain the behaviour of light?
Area of Study 2: How are light and matter
similar?
Area of Study 3: Practical Investigation
