Upcoming Season events

With the VCE Season of Excellence now in full swing, there are several exciting events upcoming, showcasing outstanding artworks and performances from VCE and VCE VET students across Victoria.

Top Class Drama and Theatre Studies concerts are continuing at The Malthouse, Merlyn Theatre, with 6 concerts between 15–17 March. These concerts will stage 30 outstanding performers from each study, who excelled in their interpretation of different structures and monologues in the 2022 performance exams.

Top Arts opens tomorrow 17 March at the NGV’s Ian Potter Centre and will run until 9 July. A range of VCE Art and Studio Arts works are on display, demonstrating student creativity across a wide variety of visual mediums.

Top Screen launches at ACMI on 17 March. A selection of 15 incredible short films created by VCE Media students in 2022 make up this year’s program. The films demonstrate a variety of techniques and genres, including sci-fi, documentary, coming-of-age, arthouse and more. There will be screenings at ACMI throughout March and April. Top Designs will open at the Melbourne Museum on 25 March, running until 9 July. The exhibition will feature 69 works created by VCE and VCE VET design students across Victoria. Expect to see innovative design solutions across various studies, including VCE Product Design and Technology, Visual Communication Design, Systems Engineering, Media and Theatre Studies, as well as VCE VET Creative and Digital Media, Engineering Studies, Integrated Technologies and Music (Sound Production). The program also includes a series of education forums. Bookings at Melbourne Museum.

Top Class Sound and Music will take place on 29 and 30 March at Melbourne Recital Centre. These concerts are a fantastic opportunity to see high-calibre music performances across a range of VCE and VET studies. Original compositions will be featured at the Thursday concert, which incorporates Top Class Sound. Limited tickets from Melbourne Recital Centre.

The 2023 Season will culminate in the Top Acts concert on 30 May, bringing together fantastic performers selected from the Top Class series. Bookings at Melbourne Recital Centre.
