F–10 Curriculum aligned resources to support bushfire education in schools

A range of classroom resources are available to support primary and secondary school teachers to prepare all young Victorians for the challenges of living in a country that regularly experiences bushfires.

The sequenced lesson plans explore the themes of learning about, preparing for, responding to, and recovering from bushfires.

To learn more, watch VCAA’s joint webinar presentation with the Country Fire Association (CFA) and Fire Rescue Victoria:

Online languages assessments

Schools can access VCAA’s suite of free online languages assessments to support teachers implementing Victorian Curriculum F–10 Languages.
Developed with the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), the multiple-choice listening and reading assessments are available for Chinese, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Modern Greek and Spanish.

The assessments provide a snapshot of each student’s receptive reading and listening skills, which can then be used to better target students’ learning needs.

To build their knowledge on how to use these assessments, school staff are invited to watch VCAA’s related series of recordings from previous professional learning webinars:
