The VCAA welcomes new Chief Executive Officer
The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) welcomes the appointment of Andrew Smith as Chief Executive Officer.
Andrew says the VCAA will continue to ensure that the curriculum it develops, the assessments it designs and the support it provides empowers educators to shape their students’ experience in education.
“At the heart of our work is a simple but powerful truth: education shapes lives,” he said.
Andrew has recently led national policy reforms as the CEO of Education Services Australia. Having started his career as a school teacher, Andrew has held senior positions across the education and vocational training sectors, including Vice President (Engagement) at Swinburne University of Technology and CEO of the Australian Council for Private Education and Training.
He brings to the role a wealth of knowledge in education, training and leadership.
Andrew is committed to leading the VCAA as an organisation that plays a critical role in Victoria’s education portfolio.
