Analysing your school’s VCE results
In Term 1, 2021, the VCAA is offering webinars on four different aspects of analysing your school’s VCE results.
Module A (Study Score and Statistical Moderation) provides detailed information about the way in which a student’s final study score is developed, including a detailed explanation of the statistical moderation process VCAA uses to ensure fairness across the assessment processes.
Module B (External Assessments and Indicative Grades) explains ways in which teachers can use data about their students’ performance on external examination questions, including multiple choice questions, to inform teaching practices and to understand the strengths and weakness of individual classes and schools compared to the whole state, and processes to ensure that assessment standards are comparable across the state.
Module C (VCE Data Service and Adjusted Scores) provides an overviews of the range of data which schools can access within the VCE Data Service including making comparisons of class and whole school performance at a subject level across selected years.
Module D (Student Longitudinal Progress) explains how schools can review the performance of their school and individual students between Year 3 and Year 12 by providing linked results between NAPLAN and VCE English and Mathematics studies.
To assist schools, webinars on each aspect will be offered on three occasions. These sessions are for school staff responsible for the delivery of the VCE. They will increase your knowledge and skills in using the VCE assessment results to:
- identify strengths and weaknesses in your school’s VCE performance against particular curricula
- inform professional learning discussions with fellow teachers around improving student outcomes.
Registrations for the following sessions are now open.
You will need to register for each session separately. Once you register, a link and instructions will be sent to you prior to the session. If you cannot see the sessions in Trumba when trying to register, click the option in the top left-hand tab [Table] to view as a table.
