  • The challenges and opportunities of digital technologies for very young children: In conversation with Dr Anne Kennedy

    Registrations are now open for the VCAA's Early Years March Twilight Webinar to be held Tuesday 23 March 2021 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. This webinar, titled 'The challenges and opportunities of digital technologies for very young children: In conversation with Dr Anne Kennedy', would suit early childhood professionals educating and caring for children from birth to three years of age who want to better understand how to be thoughtful, purposeful and deliberate in their use of technology in the learning environment. 

    Dr Anne Kennedy works as a consultant, trainer, writer and researcher in early childhood education.

    After registering for the webinar, participants are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the following resources, to support deeper engagement with the ideas that will be discussed.

    • In the article 'Intentionality and technology' Dr Anne Kennedy discusses the role of digital technologies in early childhood care and education and how they might be used to build on children's strengths and interests.
    • The video resources Babies and toddlers: Amazing learners gives examples of significant learning from birth to three years. The three videos in this collection highlight and showcase selected examples of significant learning in the birth-to-three-years period. The videos include a few examples of learning that may amaze and impress viewers, but most of the learning shown is 'everyday learning' that occurs frequently and in a variety of settings.
