Notice to Schools 98/2020 – 15 July 2020
International students enrolled in VCE Unit 3-4 sequences and currently overseas
Principals/Directors, VCE Coordinators and International Student Program Coordinators
On 25 June the Minister for Education issued a Ministerial Direction to allow international students in government and non-government schools to study remotely in their home countries for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This Ministerial Direction applies to standard and study-abroad students impacted by Australian Government COVID-19 travel restrictions, which currently prevent them from returning to on-site schooling in Victoria.
Schools with students enrolled in an International Student Program who are enrolled in one or more VCE or scored VCE VET Unit 3–4 sequence and are currently overseas and learning remotely are asked to contact the
VCAA International Unit, by Wednesday 22 July to ensure arrangements can be made to enable these students to sit the General Achievement Test (GAT) and their VCE examinations overseas.
Action required
Principals/Directors should ensure that appropriate staff contact the VCAA International Unit about International Student Program students who are enrolled in one or more VCE or scored VCE VET Unit 3-4 sequences and are currently overseas and learning remotely.
