Who we are looking for
You need to have:
Teaching experience in the nominated study
Knowledge of VCE curriculum and assessment policy, and of the nominated study
Relevant tertiary or education qualifications
No close connection with a student undertaking Units 3 and 4 in the nominated study
What you will do
As a State Reviewer you will lead and provide expert advice on the work of the School-based Assessment Audit panel. This includes:
- contributing to the development of study-specific questions for the School-based Assessment Audit of Units 3 and 4
- leading the review of submissions to the Unit 3 and Unit 4 School-based Assessment Audit
- providing advice about outcomes and appropriate feedback and recommendations regarding the responses received to the School-based Assessment Audit
- consulting with the Curriculum Manager on individual support programs for VCE providers where an audit submission does not meet requirements
- working with the Curriculum Manager to devise appropriate forms of professional support that address common concerns identified through the School-based Assessment Audit
- preparing and submiting an audit report detailing characteristics of exemplars and areas of concern identified through the audit as well as recommendations for the focus of future audits
- submiting two completed worklogs for work undertaken in Unit 3 and Unit 4
State Reviewers of the following VCE studies will be part of the relevant VCE Season of Excellence selection panel:
- Art
- Media
- Product Design and Technology
- Studio Arts
- Systems Engineering
- Visual Communication Design
This work generally takes place in October each year. You may also be required to participate in related educational programs, talks and forums.
State Reviewers are appointed for two years. Towards the end of the two-year appointment, the position is advertised again.
You may hold a position for up to six years of continuous service. After this time, the position may only be extended in exceptional circumstances.
State Reviewers are paid based on the size of the cohort of students in the particular study.
