Notice to Schools 22/2022 – 16 February 2022

VCE Vocational Major and Victorian Pathways Certificate professional learning schedule

Principals/directors and VCE and VCAL teachers and careers practitioners

The VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM) and Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) will replace VCAL in 2023. We’re committed to supporting providers to implement the VCE Vocational Major and Victorian Pathways Certificate.

VCE and VCAL teachers and careers practitioners are invited to join the following professional development sessions:

Principals (webinar)

Detailed description of pathways (designed for non-VCAL providers)

  • Friday 25 February 2.00-3.00pm

Careers practitioner (webinars)

Prepares career practitioners for the introduction of the VCE VM and VPC.

  • Thursday 10 March 3.30–4.30pm
  • Tuesday 15 March 3.30–4.30pm

VCE VM and VPC overview (webinars)

Provides details of the accredited VCE VM and VPC for 2023.

  • Tuesday 10 May 3.30–4.30pm
  • Thursday 19 May 3.30–4.30pm
  • Tuesday 24 May 3.30–4.30pm 
  • Wednesday 1 June 3.30–4.30pm
  • Tuesday 7 June, 3.30–4.30pm
  • Thursday 16 June, 3.30–4.30pm

VPC overview sessions (webinars)

Provide details of the accredited VPC for 2023.

  • Tuesday 17 May 3.30–4.30pm
  • Wednesday 25 May 3.30–4.30pm

Authorisation sessions (recordings)

Outlines the requirements for the authorisation process.

  • Term 2 – date to be advised

2023 Transitional credit arrangements (webinars)

Outlines the transitional credit arrangements for 2023.

  • Monday 16 May, 3.30–4.30pm
  • Wednesday 8 June, 3.30–4.30pm

Authorisation sessions

Outlines the requirements for the authorisation process to allow schools to deliver the certificates.

Applied learning in practice (face-to-face)

Unpacks each of the units for the VCE VM and VPC.

  • Term 3 – dates to be advised

Sessions will be delivered in the following areas:

  • Regional – Bairnsdale , Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong, Horsham, Mildura, Shepparton, Surf Coast, Traralgon, Warnambool, Wodonga
  • Metropolitan – Dandenong, Frankston, Greensborough, Melbourne CBD, Ringwood, Sunshine, Werribee
