The Learning Goal and the Applications

In the first arrow box: The Learning Goal is the standard against which teachers assess

In the second arrow box: The Applications describe what students should do to achieve the Learning Goal and what evidence teachers might collect.

The components of the VPC Curriculum Design

In the first arrow box: Unit

A VPC unit is satisfactorily completed once all modules within that unit have been completed.

In the second arrow box: Module

Completion of a module is base on the teacher's decision that the student has demonstrated achievement of the learning goal specified in that module.

In the third arrow box: Learning Goals

The standards of the course are described in the learning goals. Students must demonstrate achievement of the learning goals in a module

In the fourth arrow box: Applications

Demonstration of the learning goals requires student to apply a variety of skills. The applications assist students to demonstrate they have met the learning goals.
