Unit 1 - Area of Study 3: Analysing a devised performance

Analyse the development, and the performance to an audience, of their devised work.

Analyse the development and performance of the devised work(s) to an audience through a series of short questions, a multi-media presentation, or an oral presentation. This is an open book analysis and students can refer to their journal and working scripts as they complete the task.
Respond to structured questions about the development and performance of the devised work(s) to an audience.

Students use their notes and other documentation from the devising and performance processes and respond to the following questions:

Describe how you used two expressive skills to portray your central character.
Select one of the following performance skills and explain how you used this to portray a character: focus, energy, timing, actor-audience relationship. (Give detailed examples.)
Analyse how the actor-audience relationship was manipulated in the performance (link to performance style).
Describe how your group used application of symbol and transformation of character, time and place. (Make sure you describe the transformation techniques.)
Analyse how you used two play-making techniques to develop your performance.
Select two dramatic elements and analyse how they were used through the performance.
Describe your use of eclectic theatre by describing three performance styles.
