VCE VET Engineering
The current VCE VET Engineering program is drawn from the 22209VIC Certificate II in Engineering Studies, which will expire on 30 June 2018. The replacement qualification is the 22470VIC Certificate II in Engineering Studies, which is not equivalent to the 22209VIC Certificate II in Engineering Studies. Details of the 22470VIC certificate are available on the Department of Education and Training
VET accredited courses webpage.
Formal approval of the revised VCE VET Engineering program is underway. Once it is approved by the VCAA Board, the program will be published on the VCE VET webpage and schools will be notified through the
VCAA Bulletin.
The revised VCE VET program will be available to schools from 1 July 2018. All new enrolments must transition to 22470VIC Certificate II in Engineering Studies by 2019. Schools with first year students enrolled in the 22209VIC Certificate II in Engineering Studies will be requested to move the enrolments to the 22470VIC Certificate II in Engineering Studies. Further advice on the transition process will be provided in future editions of the
VCAA Bulletin.
Schools should consult with their registered training organisation partners to ensure that the new qualification will be added to scope for delivery in 2018.

Structured workplace learning recognition – new from 2018
Information on the structured workplace learning (SWL) recognition program is now available. Visit the VET
structured workplace learning recognition webpage to download guidelines, fact sheets and workplace learning records for more than 20 VCE VET programs.
In order for your students to receive credit, your school must attend an SWL recognition training workshop prior to recording an enrolment on VASS.
The VCAA will be conducting workshops for schools interested in implementing SWL recognition. For information about the workshop dates and locations and to register, visit the
VET professional development activities webpage.
