New resources published to support early childhood educators
Assessment of Children as Effective Communicators in Early Childhood Education and Care: Literature Review documents the research that underpins and defines communication for children from birth to eight years, and outlines children's trajectory of communication development and the different modes and components of language. This resource aims to strengthen a shared understanding across early years services and settings.
The
Communication Practice Guide can be used by a range of practitioners and leaders in early childhood settings to explore the assessment of communication through case studies and key learning points. The practice guide is an accessible evidence-based resource.
These new resources focusing on communication follow on from the
Wellbeing Practice Guide and
Literature Review and are part of a series that addresses each of the Outcomes. Both resources are available from the
Early Years practice resources webpage.
