Training for new VASS administrators
The VCAA will conduct half-day training for newly appointed VASS administrators on Tuesday 31 July and Wednesday 1 August 2018 at the VCAA Assessment Centre, 189 Urquhart, Street Coburg. New users can attend either a morning session (9.00am–12.00pm) or an afternoon session (1.30pm–4.00pm).

Geography Teachers' Association of Victoria 2018 annual conference
The Geography Teachers' Association of Victoria (GTAV) 2018 annual conference theme is
Geography: Critical, Creative, Innovative. The three-day conference will be held from Sunday 26 August to Tuesday 28 August with an expanded program of 75 plenary sessions, workshops and fieldtrips provided by more than 125 presenters. It will include targeted sessions for Primary, Levels 7–10 and VCE Geography, focus sessions for out-of-field teachers or those new to teaching Geography and inspiring sessions on using digital technology in Geography (from beginners to advanced). Victorian Association for Philosophy in Schools conference
The Victorian Association for Philosophy in Schools (VAPS) will hold its biennial conference on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 September 2018 at Siteworks, 33 Saxon Street, Brunswick.
The theme of the conference is
Cultivating Curiosity: Philosophy and STEM. It will include a program of events to cater for the
VCE Philosophy Study Design 2019–2023 and sessions on all new prescribed texts. An 'in-action' day will be held at Scienceworks on Thursday 13 September for those wishing to see Community of Inquiry pedagogy in action.
