Vocational Education and Training

VCE VET Animal Studies

The current VCE VET Animal Studies program is drawn from the ACM10 Animal Care and Management Training package and has been updated as a consequence of the new training package ACM Animal Care and Management. ACM20110 Certificate II in Animal Studies has been replaced by and is equivalent to ACM20117 Certificate II in Animal Studies.

All new students in 2018 beginning training in ACM20110 will need to move their enrolment on VASS to ACM20117 to ensure that ASQA/VRQA transition and teach-out requirements are met. Schools will need to withdraw students from ACM20110 on VASS and move the enrolment to ACM20117.

Continuing students will remain in the existing ACM20110 to ensure a Unit 3 and 4 sequence will accumulate.

The new Program Extract is available on the VCE VET Animal Studies webpage.

VCE VET Engineering

The current course 22209VIC II in Engineering Studies was initially accredited for five years (1 January 2013 – 31 December 2017). Accreditation was extended for a further six months to Saturday 30 June 2018.

The new course 22470VIC Certificate II in Engineering Studies has been approved for delivery from Sunday 1 July 2018. Changes to the structure of the qualification and some new units have resulted in it being deemed not equivalent to the 22209VIC Certificate II in Engineering Studies. There can be no new enrolments in the 22209VIC after Saturday 30 June 2018.

Students who have begun training in the current 22209VIC in 2018 can:

  • have their enrolment on VASS moved to 22470VIC, where units of competency are equivalent, this year (before Thursday 15 November). Where the units are not equivalent some gap training may be required. This will ensure continual enrolment in the new qualification and access to the scored Units 3 and 4 in 2019. Students will be eligible to complete 22470VIC
  • continue their training in that certificate and leave students in 22209VIC this year. They will still be able to access the scored assessed Units 3 and 4 in 2019, however they will not complete either qualification and two statements of attainment will be issued by the RTO.

The first year of scored assessment in the new qualification (Units 3 and 4) will be 2019. All new students in 2019 will commence the new qualification.

The new program is available on the VCE VET Engineering Studies webpage.
