Consultation on proposed study designs: VCE Computing and VCE Agricultural and Horticultural Studies

The consultation period for the proposed study designs for VCE Computing and VCE Agricultural and Horticultural Studies will open on Monday 20 August and conclude on Friday 14 September 2018.

Interested teachers and other stakeholders can review the consultation documents (including the draft study design and summary of proposed changes) and respond to the online questionnaires, which will be available on the VCE study pages for VCE Computing and VCE Agricultural and Horticultural Studies on Monday 20 August 2018.

Student revision days for VCE English/English as an Additional Language, Literature and English Language

The Victorian Association for the Teaching of English (VATE) is running student revision days on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 October 2018 for VCE English/English as an Additional Language, Literature and English Language. The sessions will be held at the Caulfield campus of Monash University and will offer students seminars based on specific texts and tasks for the end of year examinations. The seminars are delivered by experienced English teachers and assessors. For details and bookings visit the VATE website.

Application for 2019 in Second Languages and Chinese Language, Culture and Society Units 3 and 4 enrolment

The 2019 Second Language (SL) application forms for VCE Units 3 and 4 Chinese SL, Chinese SL Advanced, Indonesian SL, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese are now available as VASS downloads and also on the VCAA website. Refer to Notice to Schools 64/2018.

English/English as an Additional Language and Literature – 2021 text nomination process

The VCAA invites teachers and other stakeholders to nominate texts for inclusion on the 2021 prescribed text lists for VCE English/English as an Additional Language (EAL) and Literature.

Nominations are invited for the categories listed in the following table:

English/EAL Literature
List 1
  • novels
  • collections of short stories
  • collections of poetry
  • plays
  • multimodal (including film)
  • non-fiction
  • novels
  • plays
  • collections of poetry
  • collections of short stories
  • other works of literature
List 2

Pairs including:

  • novels
  • collections of short stories
  • plays
  • multimodal (including film)
  • non-fiction

Nominations will be considered by the Curriculum Manager, English, and relevant Text Advisory Panels. Nominations are stored by the VCAA for future consideration. Nominations must address the nomination criteria as set out in the online nomination survey. Before completing the survey, you need to have read, understood and consented to the Collection Notice and Privacy Statement.

Nominations are now open and will close 14 September 2018.

Regional implementation briefings – VCE Languages reaccredited study designs

Regional implementation briefings will be held in August and September 2018 on the reaccredited study designs for VCE Languages (Arabic, Chinese Second Language, Chinese Second Language Advanced, French, German, Greek, Indonesian Second Language, Italian, Japanese Second Language, Korean Second Language, Spanish and Vietnamese Second Language). Refer to Notice to Schools 68/2018.
