Respectful Relationships professional learning for early childhood educators

Respectful Relationships professional learning will provide early childhood educators from funded kindergartens with the support to promote respectful relationships and positive attitudes and behaviours. Using their integrated teaching and learning approach, educators will encourage children to build healthy relationships, resilience and confidence.

Professional learning is available in September and October for early childhood educators in Victorian government funded kindergarten programs in the municipalities of Boroondara, Manningham, Whitehorse, Knox, Monash, Maroondah and Yarra Ranges. A statewide rollout will take place in 2019 and 2020 and registrations for 2019 workshops will open in November 2018.

The professional learning is provided at no cost to services and a contribution to backfill is offered to those attending. It will include a two-hour online module and a one-day face-to-face workshop, which covers:

  • understanding and developing respectful relationships in early childhood
  • supporting children to manage emotions
  • supporting inclusive learning environments in early childhood
  • understanding, defining and exploring the dynamics of preventing family violence.

Register via the Respectful Relationships professional learning website.
