Review of VCE study designs: consultation closed

Drafts of proposed study designs for VCE Agricultural and Horticultural Studies and VCE Computing were made available for consultation with teachers and other stakeholders in August and September 2018.

The consultation period has now ended. The VCAA thanks everyone who responded to the consultation draft. Feedback has been forwarded to the review panels before final drafts of the study designs are prepared for consideration by the VCAA Board.

VCE Extended Investigation 2019

All schools offering VCE Extended Investigation for the first time in 2019 are required to complete a statement of school readiness.

The statement of school readiness form should be downloaded from the Extended Investigation study page, completed and emailed to the VCAA by Friday 16 November 2018.

Professional learning will be available to all schools delivering VCE Extended Investigation early in 2019. All teachers of this study are strongly advised to attend.

Implementation webinars for newly revised VCE study designs

Implementation webinars will be held from Monday 22 October to Tuesday 30 October 2018 from 4.00pm to 5.00pm for teachers of the following studies:

Applications open for VCE State Reviewer positions

The VCAA is seeking applications for the roles of State Reviewer for VCE studies. VCE State Reviewers are appointed for two years commencing 1 January of the first year of appointment and concluding 31 December at the end of the appointment period.

The VCE State Reviewer holds a key role in the School-based Assessment Audit. In addition, the State Reviewer participates in the delivery of VCAA professional learning programs, advises the VCAA on matters pertaining to the relevant VCE study and assists in the preparation of published advice. It is desirable that a VCE State Reviewer is currently teaching, or has recently taught, the relevant VCE study at Units 3 and 4 level.

VCE Sciences – online monitoring questionnaires

The monitoring period for the implementation of the VCE Sciences opened on Monday 8 October 2018 and will conclude on Friday 2 November 2018. Refer to Notice to Schools 97/2018.
